We considered the lullaby one of the most important aspects of our opening. We believed that the lullaby ensured a creepy, eerie atmosphere during our horror themed opening- because of this, we wanted to create the perfect lullaby which would play over the whole opening. We researched lullaby's and listened to famous horror lullaby's.
After research, we decided as a group that we wanted young girls, around the age of 12, to sing the lullaby. During one of our lessons, we went and asked year 7 students if they wanted to take part in our opening. Five keen girls put themselves forwards. Shortly afterwards we took the girls to a music room and spoke them through the lullaby and told them about the desired effect and a brief overview of the storyline.
Because the girls were under 18 we created a consent form which the parents were asked to fill out. After receiving the consent forms back allowing the girls to participate, we put together the recordings to create the final lullaby.
