Before filming our preliminary task we created a detailed storyboard. The storyboard included detailed such as dialogue, show time, location and shot type. Creating a storyboard was extremely useful as it acted like a step-to-step guide for our filming meaning our time was spent more efficiently and the whole process was less stressful because we had a straight forward plan and idea of what we had to do. However, at some points we didn't stick to the story board as the location was different, meaning we had to compromise. For example, during the preliminary there is a shot of the girl running up the stairs, instead of along a corridor.
The preliminary task was created with the intention to use the 180 degree rule, shot-reverse-shot and match on action. We showed all three through separate techniques. We used the 180 degree rule whilst the two actresses were having a conversation, we decided to abide by this rule, instead of going against it, because we didn't want to create an uncomfortable or strange atmosphere as we didn't think it would be suitable. The way in which we used a shot-reverse-shot method is whilst the girls were conversing. During the conversation, there is tension so we did close ups whilst using the shot-reverse-shot technique. Match on action was shown when one of the girls was shown walking up to a door, and the next shot was of that girl but from the other side of the door.
