Our Movie Opening Vision
Colour palette
 |
We created our own colour palette which includes colours that we want to include in our movie opening. As a group, we decided we wanted to maintain a dull colour scheme throughout whilst having bold, dashes, of colour. The main dash of colour we aim to incorporate is red as our chosen genre is horror and research made it clear that red is a popular horror film colour as it symbolises danger, blood and death. The characters within the opening will be dressed in white, to ensure that they stand out and contrast the dimly lit lighting around them.

9 shots
As a group we discussed 9 main shots that we would all like to include within our work. Firstly, we noted down nine main pieces of footage we would like to include, for example we wanted to incorporate the forest into our opening. From this, we spoke about different angles and lights we could film the individual scenes with. Together we decided on which camera angle was best suited to the scene, for example we concluded that a low angle shot was the best for the forest as it creates a confronting and eerie atmosphere for our horror opening.
Low angle shot - The forest.
P.O.V shot - The antagonist looking through a mask.
Close up - Kidney dish with pliers and a splat of blood.
Establishing shot - A shot of the scene in which the antagonist keeps his victims.
Extreme close up - Shows the antagonists weakness. Close up - Focuses on the antagonists bloody medical glove.
Ariel shot - Shows the antagonists desk from an ariel view.
Mid shot - Shows the victim from waist up, allowing the audience to get to know them more.
Close up - Of the Antagonists face, creating an uncomfortable feeling for the audience.
